Biography

The towering defenseman with a wide wingspan was originally drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2017, where he initially signed and was then traded to the Minnesota Wild. He saw time at both the AHL and ECHL level of the Wild's system, spending all of 2021-22 with the ECHL's expansion Iowa Heartlanders. In July of 2022, Gordeev inked with Providence, and was assigned to Maine at the end of training camp. A dual Canadian/Russian citizen, Gordeev played in the OHL for parts of five seasons before turning pro, finishing up with the Guelph Storm in 2020.
