Biography

Askew enters his fifth pro season and his second with the Mariners. Maine acquired the Boston-area native in a September 2021 trade with the South Carolina Stingrays, and he enjoyed the best season of his career upon returning to New England. Askew anchored the Mariners power play in 2021-22, leading the team with 10 power play goals. His overall goal total of 23 was 2nd on the team, and he proceeded to chip in 3 more in the postseason. Askew also served as an alternate captain in 21-22. Prior to turning pro, he spent 5 seasons in the QMJHL - playing for the Drummondville Voltigeurs, Moncton Wildcats, Shawinigan Cataractes, and Charlottetown Islanders.
