Biography

Barron was selected in the 7th round of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft by the Avalanche and was signed by Colorado to a three-year, entry-level contract in March. He has also appeared in each of the last two NHL development camps with the Avalanche and competed at the team’s training camp prior to the 2017-18 season.

Barron is coming off a four-year career with the Ottawa 67’s of the OHL where he spent the final two seasons as the team’s captain. The 19 year-old posted 59 goals and 90 assists in 250 OHL contests, including a career-high 21 goals and 36 assists during his final season with the 67’s. A native of Belfountain, Ontario, the 6-foot-1, 200-pound center is the nephew of legendary NHL forward Andrew Cassels.
