Biography2019-20: Walsh, 27, joins the Icemen after posting 24 points in 50 ECHL games last season split between the Florida Everblades and Reading Royals. The 5-10, 180-pound forward has collected 91 points (38g, 53a) in 165 career ECHL games in stints with Florida, Reading, Greenville Swamp Rabbits, Cincinnati Cyclones and Utah Grizzlies. The West Roxbury, MA native played four collegiate seasons at UMass-Amherst (Hockey East) where he compiled 67 points (36g, 31a) from 2012-2016.
3 Quick Facts: Royals are Walsh's 4th ECHL team...Former leading scorer for UMass-Amherst as a senior...During his junior season at UMass-Amherst, scored the game-winning goal in the 5th overtime of a 4-3 victory against Notre Dame to complete the longest game in NCAA Division I college history on Mar. 7, 2015. The stick he used to score the goal is in the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto. 2018-19: 2017-18: Concluded season with four goals and 14 points in final 18 games for Greenville. 2016-17: Split season with Utah and Cincinnati and was third among ECHL rookies with 208 shots on goal. UMass-Amherst - NCAA: Senior Year: led team with 30 points (18g)... Psychology major at UMass. Before college career: 2011 Clark Cup Champion with Dubuque Fighting Saints, a team that included Nick Luukko, Johnny Gaudreau and Zemgus Girgensons...Won state championship with Catholic Memorial High School in 2009.
