Biography
BIO: Ambroz is coming off of his first full professional season in 2015-16, having split time between the Cyclones and the Cleveland Monsters (formerly Lake Erie Monsters) of the American Hockey League (AHL). In 58 games for the Cyclones, the New Prague, MN, native accounted for 10 points (4g, 6a) along with 98 minutes in penalties. In three Cyclones playoff games, Ambroz appeared in three games and racked up 12 minutes in penalties. He suited up in three contests for the Monsters however he did not record a point. Drafted by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the fifth round of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, Ambroz made his professional debut late in the 2014-15 season for the Springfield Falcons of the AHL, skating in four games.
Prior to Springfield, the New Prague, MN, native enjoyed a successful collegiate career at the University of Minnesota, accounting for 70 points (40g, 30a) in 159 career games. He served as an alternate captain during his senior season in 2014-15, and helped lead the Gophers to NCAA tournament births in each of his four seasons. During his junior season, Ambroz helped the Gophers to a Big Ten title and a trip to the NCAA Championship Game where they ultimately fell to Union College.
