Biography

Sean Kuraly was drafted by the San Jose Sharks in the 5th round #133 overall in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. He played for the USA U19 team in 2011-2012 in the WJAC and USA U20 in the WJC-20 in 2013. Kuraly spent 2009-2012 playing in the USHL for the Indiana Ice before attending the University of Miami Ohio for four years (2012-2016) with P-Bruins Austin Czarnik. Kuraly served as captain for the Red Hawks for the 2015-16 season and alternate captain in the 2014-15 season. In June 2015 Kuraly’s rights were traded to the Boston Bruins for goaltender Martin Jones. He made his NHL debut for Boston November 4 against Tampa Bay and was reassigned to Providence November 24. Had several promotions to Boston throughout his rookie season and scored first NHL point against Chicago on April 2, registering an assist on the game’s first goal. Skated in three Stanley Cup Playoff games for the team, registering his first NHL goal in addition to the overtime game winner April 21 in game five against Ottawa. Following the conclusion of Boston’s playoff run, he returned to Providence for their postseason.
