Biography

2016-17: Tied for the 2nd-most assists on WBS with 31, which was also a new career high in that category… Scored the overtime game-winning goal on a penalty shot on Oct. 23, 2016 at Hershey, the first in WBS franchise history… Tied a career high with 4 assists in a game on Dec. 14 at Hartford… Established an AHL career-high 6-game point streak (Mar. 10 – Mar. 24, 2017).

2015-16: Tallied his rookie-leading 27th point with an assist in a 3-0 win over Syracuse on Dec. 19, 2015… Notched two assists on the road against Binghamton on Nov. 25, 2015… Scored his first career goal against Springfield on Oct. 23, 2015… Registered his first career points with four assists versus Lehigh Valley on Oct. 17, 2015… Scored his first career shorthanded goal (including Extraliga) on Feb. 28, 2016 at Providence… Made his NHL debut on Mar. 13 at Madison Square Garden against the New York Rangers and recorded an assist on the game-winning goal.

2014-15: Played 1st season with HC Škoda Plzeň of the Czech Extraliga… It was Simon’s first full season without any kind of demotion to junior or Czech minor league team… Set career highs across the board in games played (52), goals (18), assists (12), points (30) and penalty minutes (20)… His 18 goals ranked 2nd on Plzeň, while his 30 points placed 3rd… Added 3 points (1G-2A) in 4 playoff games… Played for the Czech Republic in the IIHF World Championship and recorded 6 points (1G-5A) in 10 games; He was the youngest member of the national team at 20-years-old.

2013-14: Netted 11 points (7G-4A) in 46 games during his 2nd season with Sparta Praha… His 11 points was the most among junior-age players in the Czech Extraliga that season… Scored 1 goal and added 1 assist in 10 games for his 1st Extraliga postseason experience.

2012-13: Spent the season with three different teams: HC Sparta Praha in the Czech Extraliga, Praha’s U20 junior club, and Praha’s Czech minor league affiliate, HC Stadion Litoměřice… Tallied a combined 38 points (19G-19A) between all three leagues… Recorded 1 goal and 1 assist in 18 games playing in the Extraliga for Praha.

OTHER: Represented the Czech Republic as an alternate captain in the 2014 IIHF World Junior Championship, registering 2 goals and 2 assists for 4 points in 5 games… Tied for the team lead with 8 points (4G-4A) as a member of the Czech Republic at the 2012 IIHF U18 World Juniors… Selected in the 1st round (4th overall) by Lokomotiv Yaroslavl in the 2015 KHL Draft...
