Biography
Anton Blidh was drafted by the Boston Bruins in the 2013 NHL entry draft in the 6th round as the 180th overall pick. Before joining the Bruins, Blidh played for Frolunda HC and Karlskrona HK in Sweden. He also spent time on the Swedish World Junior Cup team in 2013 and 2015. Blidh completed his rookie season with Providence (2015-16) having played 65 games and totaling 10-4-14. Blidh played his first pro game October 9, 2015 against Wilkes-Barre Scranton. He scored his first pro goal on October 23, 2015 in a 5-3 win over Lehigh Valley. He had one multi-point game when he tallied two goals against Bridgeport January 8, 2016. The 2016-17 season saw Blidh make his NHL debut for Boston on December 3 at Buffalo. He recorded an assist for his first NHL point December 7 at Washington and scored his first NHL goal December 20 against the Islanders. His four game goal streak October 28 - November 5 was tied with DeBrusk for longest by a P-Bruin in 2016-17. Blidh appeared in one NHL game during the 2017-18 season and was the primary left wing on Providence's third line. As a restricted free agent, he agreed to a one-year, two-way deal with Boston to return for the 2018-19 season.
