Biography
Payerl went undrafted after playing five seasons in the OHL with Barrie and Belleville. Over 306 OHL games, he scored 60 goals and 83 assists for 143 points. At the conclusion of his final OHL season Payerl joined Wilkes-Barre Scranton and eventually signed a three-year entry level deal with the Penguins. His NHL debut came April 6 for Pittsburgh against Colorado and he played two games with the team. After suffering an injury in his final season with Wilkes-Barre Scranton, Payerl was not tendered a qualifying offer by the team and he became a free agent. He signed a PTO with Milwaukee at the start of camp in 2015 which led to a full contract for the remainder of the season. He re-signed to a two-way deal at the end of the season and was an alternate captain for the Admirals in 2016-17. Payerl joined Providence prior to the start of training camp in 2017 on an AHL deal.
