Biography
Chris Porter was selected in the 10th round (#282 overall) by Chicago in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. A veteran of 234 games over seven NHL seasons, Porter played college hockey at the University of North Dakota from 2003-2007 before signing with St. Louis August 21, 2007. He made his NHL debut in the 2008-2009 season opener for the Blues and scored his first career goal October 18, 2008 against the Blackhawks. After eight seasons with St Louis, he signed a one-year deal on August 8, 2015 to play for Philadelphia. After being placed on waivers, Minnesota claimed him October 1. He attended Blues camp on a PTO to start the 2016-17 season before being released prior to the start of the season. He signed a PTO with Providence October 31, 2016 and in his first game as a P-Bruin recorded an assist in a 4-2 loss to Lehigh Valley. He signed a season long contract with Providence December 29. Porter scored 150th AHL point while with Providence January 15th vs Bridgeport.
