DRAFTED: Selected in the 4th Round (129th overall) of the 2002 NHL Draft by the Colorado Avalanche 

2015-16: Skated in 45 games with the Montreal Canadiens…notched five points (one goal, four assists) and finished with 12 penalty minutes….scored lone goal in a 5-1 win versus Edmonton on Feb. 6, 2016.

CAREER – 2014-15:  Signed a two-year contract with the Montreal Canadiens on July 1, 2014…made his Montreal debut on Oct. 8, 2014 versus Toronto…skated in 72 games with Montreal, scoring 12 points (four goals, eight assists) and a career-best +10 rating…appeared in 12 Stanley Cup Playoff games with the Canadiens, scoring five points (two goals, three assists)….scored first NHL playoff goal in Montreal’s 5-1 loss to Ottawa on Apr. 24, 2015. 2013-14:  Signed with the Florida Panthers on Sept. 28, 2013…finished second on the team in scoring among defenders with 28 points (three goals, 25 assists). 2012-13: Posted 13 points (three goals, 10 assists) in the lockout shortened season with the Minnesota Wild…made his Stanley Cup Playoffs debut on Apr. 30, 2013 versus the Chicago Blackhawks…appeared in five playoff games with the Wild. 2011-12: Opened season with the Edmonton Oilers, scoring 17 points in 43 games…traded to the Minnesota Wild on Feb. 27, 2012 for Nick Schultz…the Minnesota native made his Wild debut on Feb. 28 versus Los Angeles…scored five assists in 20 games with the Wild. 2010-11: Led Edmonton defensemen with 26 points (six goals, 20 assists). 2009-10: Appeared in all 82 games with Edmonton for a third straight season, one three Oilers to accomplish this…finished second among Edmonton defensemen with 31 points (five goals, 26 assists). 2008-09:  Posted a career best in assists (40) and points (45)…his 40 assists were tied for ninth among NHL defensemen…one of two Oilers to appear in all 82 games. 2007-08: Member of the NHL’s All-Rookie Team, finishing with 33 points, including a career-best 13 goals…set Oilers franchise record for goals by a rookie defender…signed six-year extension with Edmonton on Apr. 11. 2006-07:  Made NHL debut on his 24th birthday on Jan. 10, 2007 in Edmonton’s 3-2 win at San Jose…scored his first NHL goal on Feb. 20, tying the game with just 20 seconds to play, in Edmonton’s 4-3 overtime loss at Ottawa…recorded first multi-point game, scoring two assists in Edmonton’s 4-3 loss at Nashville on Mar. 27…also appeared in 48 games with the AHL’s Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, scoring 30 points (four goals, 26 assists)…made professional debut, notching an assist, in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton’s 7-4 loss to Hershey on Oct. 7, 2006.
